ILAW joins LEXTAL to become one of leading law firms in the Baltics

The law firm ILAW has joined the LEXTAL Vilnius team to operate under the name ILAW LEXTAL. This new law firm will also become part of the LEXTAL Legal group, which has been established among the ten largest law firms in the Baltic States with a team of over 60 lawyers.

LEXTAL Legal is a united group of law firms that includes LEXTAL in Estonia, Rasa, Ešenvalds and Radziņš LEXTAL in Latvia, and ILAW LEXTAL in Lithuania.

With this merger of law firms in Lithuania, more than 30 lawyers will be employed in the ILAW LEXTAL team to offer consultation services to customers on corporate law, real estate law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax law, personal data protection, intellectual property, labour law, public procurement, unfair competition and other areas of business law. Customers will also be able to receive legal services from the firm’s partners in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

“This merger is the result of consistent work. Over the recent years, we have strengthened our relationship with our colleagues in the Baltic States, and this partnership is the start of a closer cooperation. We aim to operate an integrated office, which allows customers to receive consistent and high-quality services in every country. We have planned appropriate integration measures, which include the unification of our quality standards, processes and pricing principles, as well as the integration of our tools and sharing our experience. The most important matter is to implement our set goals and keep the promises to our customers, and we are working hard to achieve that,” said Tomas Bagdanskis, Managing Partner at ILAW LEXTAL and former leader of the ILAW team.

Lina Šikšniutė-Vaitiekūnienė is the founder and partner of LEXTAL in Lithuania, who has been representing LEXTAL for nearly a decade. She is pleased to know that even greater value will now be created for her customers: “By acting as one team, we will be able to implement the ideas of our customers and projects in different Baltic countries even quicker and more successfully. The integration of the Baltic market and the growing need for cross-border legal services are what prompted us to merge with the regional LEXTAL office almost ten years ago, to combine our extensive and diverse experiences and resources. It is now time to once again expand our ranks and our range of competencies to better meet the needs of our customers, especially when it comes to projects that require a greater capacity,” stated Šikšniutė-Vaitiekūnienė.

As a single team, LEXTAL Legal is already responsible for advising companies such as Alfa Laval, Delfi, TOTAL, Ryanair, Grohe and others throughout the region.

The partners in the ILAW LEXTAL law firm are: Tomas Bagdanskis, Lina Šikšniutė-Vaitiekūnienė, Džiuginta Balčiūnė, Vilma Sabaliauskienė, Vilius Mačiulaitis, Mantas Mikalopas, Jolanta Liukaitytė-Stonienė, Asta Macijauskienė and Arūnas Šidlauskas. The Lithuanian office will be headed by Tomas Bagdanskis, founder of the ILAW law firm. The regional board of LEXTAL Legal will be composed of six partners from all three countries.

Established in 2011, ILAW first paved the way as specialists in labour law and gained market recognition in this field. The firm is annually ranked as a Tier 1 law firm in Lithuania for the field of labour law in the international legal guides ‘The Legal 500’ and ‘Chambers and Partners Europe’. As the team expanded, other business law practices were developed, including corporate law, tax law, intellectual property protection, unfair competition, disputes, etc.

LEXTAL is known in Lithuania for providing business law attorneys with many years of experience in the fields of corporate law, real estate and construction, agriculture and energy law.
